Trying to Find a New Carseat

It’s always some kind of something to spend extra money on. Nomatter what the budget says.
Sigh!
My friend watched the kids so I could
shop after the commissary.
I went looking for a new carseat cuz the oldest one was getting kind of groady.
No go.
It wasn’t that they were so bad or anything, but the price was a shocker.
Wasn’t quite prepared for that.
I went and looked at the thrist store on post but that’s a concern.
You don’t know for sure if they are the latest and safest version, or if they are 15 years old and have been recalled.
I am trying to decide what to do.
Possibly I could just add some more foam and a new cover on the old one, but I don’t know how to do that.
Trying to figure it out.
